Working on strength and power is not only for those in search of bulked-up muscles. This type of training boosts the strength needed for your normal daily life activities. Almost any task becomes easier with stronger muscles. So does any sport you enjoy.
With strength training you train to overcome resistance with focus on moving as much weight as possible for the given number of repetition. The focus is on moving the weight from point A to point B.
Power training focusses on overcoming resistance, but also focusses on the ability to overcome the resistance in the shortest period of time.

A good distinction between conditioning and strength is that conditioning involves a higher heart rate, more repetitions, and less resistance. Conditioning has everything to do with training your heart and long system. Your cardiovascular system can be seen as a transport chain that constantly circulates fluids through your body. The circulation of fluid throughout the body serves:
As a means of delivery and removal of substances
It provides all the living cells of the organism with the materials required for their normal functions (e.g., O2 and nutrients)
It carries away the products of cell metabolism (CO2 and other metabolites) These substances do not enter and leave the bloodstream directly; their passage is indirect, by way of the interstitial (extracellular) fluid
Cardiovascular improvements mean your body becomes more efficient at delivering oxygen to your muscles and organs.

SPEED &
AGILITY
The ability to move and change the direction and position of the body quickly and effectively while under control. It requires quick reflexes, coordination, balance, speed, and correct response to the changing situation. Speed is the ability to move all or part of the body as quickly as possible.
Speed training is mostly performed by using high velocity for brief intervals.
Agility is a combination of different sport specific movement patterns; forward, lateral, and backward.
Athletes who can move faster than their opponents have an advantage. For example, a faster athlete may be able to get to a ball more quickly than a competitor or may even outrun a pursuer. For this reason, athletes in most sports value speed highly.

POSTURE
Balance training involves doing exercises that strengthen the muscles that help keep you upright, including your legs and core. These kinds of exercises can improve stability and help prevent falls. Doing balance exercises can be intense, like some very challenging yoga poses.
Static balance is the ability to maintain postural stability and orientation with centre of mass over the base of support and body at rest.
Dynamic balance is the ability to maintain postural stability and orientation with centre of mass over the base of support while the body parts are in motion.

FLEXIBILITY &
CONTROL
Although flexibility varies widely from person to person, minimum ranges are necessary for maintaining joint and total body health.
Flexibility is the ability to move muscles and joints through a full normal range of motion (ROM). Flexibility helps performance, posture, promotes efficient movement, prevents incorrect body alignment, maintains appropriate muscle length and balance and also decreases injury risk.
Many variables affect the loss of normal joint flexibility including injury, inactivity or a lack of stretching. The range of motion will be influenced by the mobility of the soft tissues that surround the joint. A lack of stretching, especially when combined with activity can lead to a fatigue induced soft tissue shortening over time.
Flexibility creates range and control turns that range into strength and precision.
